Trying to air-condition an entire high-bay warehouse to office temperatures is rarely cost-effective. In most cases the smart approach is targeted cooling where people and sensitive goods actually are — offices, mezzanines, packing and pick stations, quality-control areas and staff welfare zones — rather than the whole air volume.

Where wider cooling is genuinely needed (for example to protect temperature-sensitive stock or process areas), we design from a full heat-load and airflow survey, accounting for roof height, solar gain through cladding and rooflights, equipment heat and the volume of air to be moved. Large warehouse cooling loads are measured in tens of kW and up, so correct sizing is critical to both performance and running cost.

Comfort cooling in staff and office areas supports productivity and wellbeing, while targeted cooling can protect temperature-sensitive stock and keep server and comms rooms within safe limits. We match the system type to the job — splits and cassettes for offices and welfare areas, larger or ducted systems for bigger zones — and these reverse-cycle units also provide efficient heating in cold months.

Industrial premises are frequently leased, so we coordinate with landlords and managing agents on external plant siting and lease obligations. A planned maintenance contract is especially valuable in dusty industrial environments, where filters and coils need regular cleaning to keep systems efficient, reliable and compliant with F-Gas refrigerant record-keeping.
